Summer can be a hard time for many home business, even for Herbalife distributors. With so many families traveling, eating out, and spending time on other activities, it can be hard for distributors to continue to work on their business.

However, people also tend to be more active in the summer, so it’s the best time of the year to lose weight since it’s easier to exercise.

With mid-year approaching, it’s a great time to re-evaluate all of your goals and objectives for the year, and make sure you’re on track both personally and professionally. Consider running a Herbalife Weight Loss Challenge with our LoseBig website. Attend a conference or a webinar so that you’ll continue to grow.

Finally, keep using your HNN retail website as a 24/7 sales agent for your distributor. Be consistent in sending people to your site to learn more, order online, or contact you.

LoseBig (our WLC promotion website) is currently undergoing another round of improvements and feature enhancements. Currently, LoseBig is approved for registration and online payments. The reporting tools are currently experimental, but will be approved for general use within a couple of weeks. We’ll also have a new Facebook Application available for your participants to monitor their progress online through their facebook account.

Facebook can be a great way for you to promote your next local WLC! In addition, we’ll be ‘internationalizing’ the site so HNN members who live outside of the USA can use this new service.

We first posted information on Rule 24-C in mid-March. This rule requires all personal websites to utilize access codes to view product prices or to place an order. Our implementation of and transition to the use of access codes went very smoothly; special thanks to those HNN members who offered advice as we worked through specific issues.

Herbalife has announced a new product and updates to the weight management programs.

The newest product is Hand Sanitizer, and you will find it under Immune Solutions in your HNN retail site.

Other changes include increased sizes of Formula One in all of the weight management programs. From Herbalife’s official announcement:

“By popular Distributor request, the 550g canister of Formula 1 Healthy Meal Nutritional Shake Mix included in all of our Weight Management programs has been replaced with a larger 750g canister! You can now offer your customers a program containing 30 daily servings to support their nutrition needs.”

Increasing the sizes has also increased the overall price for the programs, and the HNN team has made all of the necessary changes to your retail sites.

Herbalife has just announced an update to their “Price Advertising Rule” which will affect your HNN retail website. Effective April 8th, 2010, all retail websites will be required to have a customer password before those customers can view prices. Here’s the information direct from Herbalife:

In 2009 Herbalife introduced a Price Advertising Rule in the US, which we are
updating at this time to include additional provisions which make it a requirement for websites that reflect
pricing information to be accessible to the general public ONLY via the use of passwords.

We view this as a positive development for distributors, as this will discourage the use of discounting as a promotional technique. You see, we believe that customers want to buy from the distributor who will serve them the best, and not just sell at the lowest price. Mark Hughes believed in ‘use, wear, and talk’, and this price rule will allow you to ‘talk’ to your customers before they see prices.

We’re going to use this opportunity to activate a customer login module we’ve been working on, which will allow your HNN retail site to stay in compliance with Herbalife’s rules, and allow repeat customers to login to a personal account for quick and easy reordering. We will do everything we can to make this as simple as possible for your Herbalife retail customers!

LoseBig is getting closer to final release. There are still issues with the navigation (it’s a little confusing in places), but now you can:

  • Register (using HNN account)
  • Create a Challenge
  • Participants can register online
  • Participants can pay online (Using PayPal only)
  • Participants can download weekly PDF’s
  • Distributors can manually add participants
  • Track stats week by week
  • Simple reporting with one graph (more to come)

Participants can also register using Facebook Connect which allows a Facebook user to register with their facebook account. There will be more Facebook tools coming soon.

Our new local WLC website is currently completing it’s first round of testing. We’re adding new features, improving the site navigation and tools, and getting ready to bring in a new group of distributors to review the site.

At first, LoseBig will be used primarily as a ‘landing page’ for your local WLC advertising, as well as online challenge registration and payment. After that, the next phase of development will be creating a series of reports for you to use for your challenges.

Our overall goal for LoseBig is to create a resource that will be so useful to you as a distributor, that you will want to use it for your challenges even if none of your participants do!

For example, the site will be able go generate attendance and statistic charts in PDF format that you will be able to print off and take with you to each challenge. Each week, you could record the participants weights on a form, then enter the data into the LoseBig website. Participants can then login and review their data, view graphs, and download the training PDFs from the site.

At the conclusion of the challenge, you could generate a professionally formatted report with their statistics on it, along with graphs and other data. You could print these and hand them out to each participant (for those who don’t use the site), or your participants could log into their account and download it themselves, if they wish.

We have a lot of questions for you as we complete the website, and your feedback is critical. If you could take a few minutes and review these questions, and then send us your answers we would greatly appreciate it. Also, if you have any templates for reports that you would be willing to share with us, that would be outstanding.

Registration

  1. What do you require at registration? Basic contact information, of course, but what other data would you like to gather?
  2. Would you like the participant to complete a ‘wellness questionnaire’?
  3. What a bout a ‘lifestyle questionnaire’ that could be used to determine products for your participant? Do you currently use anything like this?
  4. Do you take ‘before and after’ pictures of each participant?

Before Your First Challenge

  1. What information do you take to your first challenge? Challenge roster for attendance?
  2. Do you have a form you use for on-site enrollment?
  3. Do you use any checklist for each participant? What items are on this checklist?
  4. How do you currently track attendance? Do you use a form for this?

Tracking Data

  1. What data do you record each week for your participants?
  2. Besides the spreadsheet available from Herbalife, what do you use to keep track of this?
  3. Do you take measurements? Which ones, and how often?

Completing the Challenge

  1. Do you present your participants with a handout showing their final weight, total weight lost, or other data?
  2. If so, how do you create this? What follow-up information do you leave them with?

Follow-Up

  1. What kind of follow-up do you do with your participants after the challenge?

Great reminder when the days are long and dark… Spring is Coming!

As you may know, Herbalife has made changes to their Weight Management Programs and to the labeling on several of their products. In short, the Shapeworks Protein Plus programs are no longer available in the US; in addition, the contents and price of the Ultimate program has changed.

HNN US retail sites have been updated for the members. However, if you had any of the Protein Plus programs as a Featured Product, you will need to adjust your selections in the HNN Members area. Just log in at http://herbal-nutrition.net/ go to Manage Store, then choose Featured Products. Make your changes and hit Update at the bottom of the page.
